The national government’s gross financing in June picked up to over P213 billion, bringing the year-to-date borrowings to P1.72 trillion, data released by the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) showed.

Earlier, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez 3rd assured the public that the Philippines was capable of paying off its growing number of loans that were mostly used to support the government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
