THE House of Representatives would launch its own investigation into corruption allegations against officials and personnel of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), a lawmaker said on Sunday.
For the first hearing on Wednesday, Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Michael Defensor, chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, said invited to the investigation were officials from the Department of Health and PhilHealth, including resigned anti-fraud legal officer Thorrsson Keith, who exposed the “widespread corruption” in the state-run insurance firm.
