Quirino province posts first Covid-19 positive case

 

CABARROGUIS, Quirino: A villager here has been confirmed positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Monday night, breaking a five-month virus-free situation in the province.

Gov. Dakila Carlo Cua issued the statement as  the Department of Health-Cagayan Valley reported 66 cases in the region on Tuesday.

Cua did not disclose the age and gender of the patient who was brought to the Southern Isabela Medical Center for treatment and isolation as he ordered thorough contact tracing and the enforcement of stricter health and safety protocols.

 

“No need to panic but we can combat Covid-19 by wearing face masks and observing social distancing,” he said.

The 66 new cases were brought to the Isabela, Cagayan and Nueva Vizcaya quarantine facilities and hospitals.

Batanes island-province has remained Covid-free.
