The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has rejected a provision in House Bill 6953, or the “Bayanihan to Recover as One Act” (Bayanihan 2), that directs banks to grant borrowers a one-year grace period for loan payments, arguing that it would threaten the banking system.
