JG Summit Holdings Inc.’s core net income sank by 89 percent to P1.4 billion in the first semester of 2020 from P13.4 billion in the same period last year on the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic’s heavy impact on its businesses.

In a disclosure on Friday, the Gokongwei-led conglomerate said the enhanced community quarantine imposed by the government in mid-March to contain Covid-19’s spread severely affected the operations of its airline, petrochemical, mall and hotel segments.
