The military’s Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom), which focuses on terrorism led by groups such as the Abu Sayyaf and Maute, has a new commander, ,who oversaw the neutralization of suicide bombers in the province of Sulu.
Maj. Gen. Corleto Vinluan Jr. currently heads the military’s Joint Task Force Sulu and the 11th Infantry Division, based in Jolo, Sulu. He is set to take over the WestMinCom on Tuesday, but in an acting capacity in the meantime.
