THE folly of the lockdown as policy to fight the pandemic has caught up with United States President Donald Trump’s coronavirus task force, which has persistently advised a shutdown of the US economy, against advice to the contrary. On August 13, Trump quietly effected a major change in the White House task force by appointing Dr. Scott Atlas of Stanford University to serve in it, to help manage the US response to the pandemic.
