A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted in Batanes and may develop into a tropical depression in 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Friday.
Weather specialist Benny Estareja said the latest weather disturbance would be named "Igme", which would be felt either Friday night or Saturday morning. Igme will be the 9th typhoon to enter the country this year, he said.
