We are now in the sixth month of quarantine. For most of us, the workplace has been completely transformed. Seeing each other face-to-face to discuss matters, listen to presentations, and argue perspectives has been replaced by work-from-home (WFH) and talking to faces projected on little squares on computer screens. Gone are the times when we could visit (bother?) each other in offices or cubicles. So are the coffee breaks and chitchat in the corridors and elevators.

Although we did expect the Fourth Industrial Revolution to eventually disrupt the workplace within the next five years, the pandemic forced a lot of us to shift to virtual work almost overnight! For some, the shift has been relatively smooth and tolerable. With sufficient internet bandwidth, coordination via video conferencing seems to work just fine, especially when combined with mobile communications. Products and services are delivered; timelines are met. Not much to worry about, it seems.
