Dear PAO,

I have been a victim of abuse from my live-in partner, and I have decided to file a complaint against him for violence against women and children. My friend at work assisted me in pursuing the complaint. I still have some belongings that are with my live-in partner. I asked our barangay (village) authorities a couple of days ago for assistance and I was given a protection order, which orders my partner, among others, to return my belongings. I already told him about it, but it seemed like it fell on deaf ears. I am thinking of personally going to him this week, but I am worried that I am almost out of leave credits at work. I will try to ask permission from my boss if I can take a dayoff to sort this matter. I really want to get my personal belongings so that I won’t have to buy new things. Do I have a legal basis to ask this from my boss?
