ACCOMPANYING this column is a reproduction of a birth certificate indicating that his parents had known all along that the birth date of Ferdinand Edralin Marcos was on Sept. 11, 1916 in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte. I have reason to believe that was the birth year he gave testifying in Honolulu, not 1917. Who knows better than one’s parents?
I don’t know if his epitaph now says, “Here, a lawyer lies still.” But, for the sake of historical accuracy, his centennial was five years ago.
