The stock market extended its decline on Friday on news that consumer confidence in the country fell to an unprecedented level and the number of coronavirus cases abroad surged anew.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) dropped by 0.12 percent or 7.14 points to close at 5,838.66 while the wider All Shares slipped by 0.04 percent or 1.32 points to finish at 3,520.63.
