Completely recovered from Covid-19, actor and senator
Bong Revilla is back to work, attending hearings virtually, while busy distributing tablets for public school students who begin distance learning in October. As part of his birthday celebration this September, he regularly mounted “Kap’s Amazing 1,500 Gadget Giveaway” through Facebook Live and YouTube. He has already gone beyond his goal and to date has given away a total of 1,600 units with the help of his wife Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado
and supporter-donors like former President Joseph
Ejercito Estrada and Regal Entertainment’s Lily
Monteverde. The final round happens today via the
senator’s official media pages.

The Sunday Times Magazine: With your birthday coming up [as of this interview], a look back on your life always shows parallelisms with the “bida” (hero) of your filmography. That bida who always gets back on his feet and wins no matter what danger, injustice or challenge comes to him. To be more specific, you were jailed in 2014 for alleged plunder and acquitted of the crime four years later. During this pandemic, you were severely infected by Covid-19, hospitalized and even rumored have died, and yet here you are as a survivor and, as you say, almost 100 percent recovered. Why do you think you are always given a second chance to bounce back from your toughest tribulations?
