METRO Manila is eyeing to shift to a modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) by November if the number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections continues to decrease, the chairman of the policy making body of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Wednesday.

Paranaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez, who is currently head of the Metro Manila Council (MMC), said in Filipino that "if the trend continues and the local government units maintain their discipline of their constituents, then this GCQ would be over by the end of October".
