The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reported on Thursday that virtual currency transactions in the country surged in the first half of 2020 amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
During a briefing, BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno noted that the trend of these transactions mirrored the movement of other digital financial services in the country during the global health crisis.
