Uncertainty plays in our hopes and dreams. Things quickly changed in the time of the pandemic. Even with the loss of jobs or pay cuts, there is always a door of opportunity waiting to be opened. In the recent 2020 Global Entrepreneurship Survey conducted by Go Daddy, one in three Filipinos started a microbusiness during the pandemic, becoming home-based entrepreneurs offering products and services online through social media or chat apps.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Assistant Secretary Jean Pacheco presented statistics during a PayMaya press conference. From March 16 to Sept. 27, 2020, there were 78,794 new business name registrations, compared to 1,753 from January to March 15.
