The “uncompetitive business environment” in the Philippines has prompted two electronic companies to close shop in the country, according to an industry group leader.

“To date, one company has shut down and another is shutting down due to the uncompetitive business environment,” Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation Inc. (Seipi) President Dan Lachica said in a statement on Friday.
