Benguet Corp. (BC) does not care about the investors. As a stock corporation that has its common A shares, common B shares and convertible preferred shares listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange, it does not care about its public stockholders, who may own common A shares, common B shares and even convertible preferred shares.
In a preliminary information statement (PIS), Benguet informed its stockholders of having 217,061 convertible preferred shares, 370,739,961 common A shares and 245,086,422 common B shares, for a total of 616,043,444 outstanding common A, B shares and convertible preferred stocks. Foreigners held 89,942,967 class B shares or 14.6 percent of outstanding.
