PLDT Inc. announced on Wednesday that it would install more fiber lines and ports in the next six months as the coronavirus pandemic fueled demand for internet connectivity.

In a statement, PLDT Chief Revenue Officer and Smart Communications Inc. President Alfredo Panlilio said the company was “rolling out more fiber [lines and] ports in more parts of the Philippines than it has ever done before, because we want to connect as many Filipino families as we possibly can to our fiber network.”
