The Department of Education’s (DepEd) battle cry “Sulong Edukalidad” adheres to the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan for School Year 2020-2021, which was approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases on May 11 — initially announcing the opening of classes on August 24 but moving it to to October 5 due to the alarming rise in the number of people infected with Covid-19.

The pandemic, as pointed out by DepEd, has brought changes to the lives and activities of the human race worldwide in ways that were never imagined or expected. The unprecedented situation brought about challenges and opportunities to the different sectors of the community and society.
