THE traditional Black Nazarene procession or Traslacion in January 2021 has been canceled over health concerns from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, the Manila city government said on Friday.

DEVOTED TO YOU The Catholic faithful pray to the Black Nazarene in Quiapo Church in Manila as part of their Friday devotion. Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso announced on Oct. 23, 2020 the cancellation of the Traslacion held every January 9 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the IATF-EID has increased the seating capacity in churches from 10 percent to 30 percent as the task force eases restrictions it imposed to curb the spread of the virus.
