THE Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the preventive suspension of several officials from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) who were charged over the alleged anomalous releases of the Interim Reimbursement Mechanism (IRM) funds totaling P2.7 billion.

"After a thorough consideration of the records, this Office finds sufficient cause to place respondents under preventive suspension pursuant to Section 24 of Republic Act No. 6770, also known as the Ombudsman Act of 1989...", the Ombudsman said in its Consolidated Order.
