The Department of Agriculture (DA) and representatives of the country’s hog industry agreed to increase shipments of hogs and "pork-in-a-box" from the Visayas and Mindanao to address the low supply and artificially high prices of the commodity in public markets in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.
In a virtual meeting between DA officials and major hog producers, Agriculture Secretary William Dar said the increased shipments would begin this week.
