Making the switch to a healthy or plant-based lifestyle can be intimidating. To address this, Juana Manahan-Yupangco released the cookbook Mesa ni Misis: A Guide to Cooking and Enjoying Native Filipino Vegetables published by ABS-CBN Books.

Yupangco is the founder of the non-profit organization Mesa ni Misis, which aims to promote healthy living and plant-based diets with the use local vegetables among Filipinos. They produce budget-friendly recipes and cooking classes, advocate recycling and love for the environment, and teach proper nutrition in different communities and highlights the benefits of vegetables. They have also worked with restaurants, hospitals, schools, hotels and institutions.
