THE Department of Health (DoH) is set to investigate the increase in the number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in mining areas around the country after outbreaks had been recorded in three separate mining sites.
Philex Mining Corp. said it had temporarily suspended its operations at the Padcal mine in Tuba, Benguet because of an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the area, with 25 positive infections as of October 23.
