To cope with the adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Pangasinan State University (PSU) hosted a two-day training to produce sanitary alcohol in collaboration with experts from the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in Batac City, Ilocos Norte.

Daniel Tapaoan Jr. of the MMSU information office said the training on November 10 to 11 was led by the Ilocos university-based National Bioenergy Research and Innovation Center (Nberic) to train PSU personnel in producing alcohol from nipa (Nypa fruticans) applying technical skills and methods of MMSU’s propriety fermentation and distillation technology to produce 70 percent ethyl alcohol.
