The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) held the seventh SEC-PSE (Philippine Stock Exchange) Corporate Governance (CG) Forum on November 19. The SEC and the PSE have been conducting these annual forums since 2014 in line with our thrust to promote good corporate governance to Philippine corporations. The current trends and developments in corporate governance are considered in choosing the topics for the forum.

This year, the SEC and the PSE recognized the importance of business resiliency and innovation to survive in the new normal. Hence, with the theme “Business Resiliency and Innovation in a New Normal Era,” this year’s forum, held in partnership with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), aimed to be a platform to discuss the challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic and their impact on businesses and the economy as a whole. It was also an avenue to share and discuss response strategies and recovery approaches to combat the significant and adverse effects of the pandemic and how to hasten the country’s recovery from them.
