Colborn graduated with a mathematics degree from the University of the Philippines in 1971. She went on to complete a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) in 1982 and a doctorate in public administration (DPA) in 2003 at the same institution. “I [have always] felt that education must be a continuing process,” she says. “The math course helped me to think analytically; the MBA helped me manage others and transition to leadership positions, while the DPA helped me differentiate leading in the public sector [government] from the private sector.
