THE PHILIPPINES recorded 2,076 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total count to 429,864, the Department of Health (DoH) said on Sunday.

Only 5.3 percent or 22,867 of the total infections are active cases.

Most patients have only mild symptoms at 82.9 percent.

The number of survivors reached 398,624 or 92.7 percent of the total cases after the agency reported 10,579 new recoveries.

There were 40 new fatalities, bringing the death toll to 8,373.
