The issue of Covid-19 vaccine continues to hog the headlines. The latest to offer purportedly a cure to the pandemic is India, a report by The Manila Times has it. Many more, in fact, are vying for acceptance.

The frenzy to promote Covid-19 vaccines certainly betrays a mad race to capture markets for commercial profits. That must be a given. I dealt on this concern as far back as the initial onslaught of the pandemic in the Philippines. I took pains tracing the development of biochemical weapons — into which I sought to categorize the pandemic — to the establishment in 1946 of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the forerunner of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
