LINGAYEN, Pangasinan: Former Pangasinan Fifth District representative Amado Espino Jr. and five of his co-accused in corruption charges, filed before the Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon in 2016, have been acquitted by the Sixth Division of the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan.

Espino and his co-accused ‒ former Pangasinan provincial administrator Rafael Baraan, former Provincial Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Office chief Alvin Bigay and private citizens Cesar Detera, Edwin Aleazar and Lolita Bolayog ‒ were cleared of the charges in a decision promulgated by the Sandiganbayan on Dec. 3, 2020.
