‘Weeds and poisonous vines have grown high’

I HAD intended to write on another topic for this week’s column but found an email from a former student of mine that is worth printing. His email is one of those prompted by my exposé on the allegedly corrupted bidding of the Philippine Identification (Phil ID) cards undertaken by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas-Security Plant Complex (BSP-SPC).

Let me quote his email (almost in its entirety except for some words and phrases that were omitted to protect the anonymity of the sender) and respond to the issues he raised there.
