THE World Bank on Tuesday further downgraded its 2020 Philippine economic growth forecast to -8.1 percent to take into account the deep contraction in the third quarter and losses from the recent typhoons.

The latest projection was significantly lower than its -6.9 percent previous forecast last October.

It was also a turnaround from the 6.0 percent economic growth recorded last year.
