STRICT enforcement of the ban on firecrackers and the pandemic made Metro Manila probably the quietest place in the country to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
There were no fireworks, burning of old tires in the streets or firing of guns into the sky as was the custom in previous years, especially during the pre-Duterte presidency.
