A secondary school teacher in Zamboanga City noted that during the 2019 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), the Philippines, among 79 participating countries, scored the lowest in reading comprehension.

Culianan National High School mentor Anna Marie Marcos disclosed that the present reading literacy rate of students “brings big impact to the educational system as it poses question to the countryʼs education quality.”
