ZAMBOANGA CITY: Police commandos on Thursday killed four Filipino pro-Islamic State (IS) fighters in a clash in the restive southern region of Mindanao.
The commandos were sent to arrest the group after tracking down their hideout also on Thursday in Basag village in South Cotabato’s T’boli town. The men, all members of the Dawlah Islamiya, opened fire on the commandos, sparking a short but fierce firefight that eventually killed all gunmen.
