THE “People Empowerment Act,” which was recently approved by the House of Representatives, will provide a mechanism for citizens to participate in policy and decision-making in local government units (LGU), a principal author of the measure said on Tuesday.
San Jose Del Monte City Rep. Florida Robes, head of the Committee on People Participation, said House Bill 7950 will create a “People’s Council in all LGUs across the country that would be a mechanism for citizens to register their views and opinions in different areas of governance.
