METRO Manila mayors will ask the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to retain the general community quarantine (GCQ) status in the National Capital Region (NCR) in February as the new variant of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) remains a threat, according to Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano.
In a briefing on Wednesday, Cayetano said this was the agreement reached by local executives late Tuesday night. Metro Manila is under GCQ until January 31.
