Picture this: The year is 2092 and an unlikely team of misfits are sent on a journey in outer space to save the world aboard Spaceship Victory. An adventure indeed, it is the plot of Korea’s first sci-fi or SF blockbuster film, “Space Sweepers,” which, according to its cast and director, was exactly the experience of making Netflix’s big premiere today.

In fact, it took 10 long years to conceptualize and produce the movie after director Jo Sung-hee heard a story from friends about space sweepers, that is, people who literally sweep debris scattered in outer space.
