Economists say the Philippines must invest heavily in digital infrastructure, as it is key to attract more investments and develop other industries amid the coronavirus pandemic.

During a Management Association of the Philippines economic briefing on Tuesday, Johanna Chua, Citigroup managing director and head of Asia economic and market analysis, called private investment in the country an “unfortunate casualty” of the global health crisis, noting that there had been an investment boom before it struck.
