House Deputy Speaker and Valenzuela City Rep. Weslie Gatchalian has proposed stiffer penalties for falsifying coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) test results.

Last week, the lawmaker filed House Bill 8643, which amends Section 9 of Republic Act 11332 (“Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act”), to include falsification of Covid-19 test result as among the acts it prohibits.
