While the number of new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases has started to decline across the Philippines, the Department of Health (DoH) has detected some increases in select regions in the country, including in eight cities in Metro Manila.

According to Dr. Alethea de Guzman, officer-in-charge director of the DoH Epidemiology Bureau (EB), the country’s national growth rate has shown a plateauing trend from the increase posted in the middle of January.
