PHNOM PENH: As countries look to make tourism more eco-friendly in line with global sustainable development goals, the private sector is stepping up by providing green transport alternatives in the Kingdom’s most visited tourist destination.

Launched in 2014, electric motorbike rental company Green E-bike said it estimates having saved some 300 tons of carbon dioxide emissions — equivalent to the planting of 1,450 trees — since it was established. Its bikes also actively improve the tourist experience while benefiting local businesses.
