The Insurance Commission (IC) plans to introduce in the first quarter the country’s first private sector-led catastrophe insurance facility that is designed to heighten the country’s financial resilience against natural disasters.

In a statement on Thursday, the Department of Finance (DoF) said establishing this facility was mentioned by Insurance Commissioner Dennis Funa during his presentation of his agency’s 2021 plans and targets to Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez 3rd.
