IN 1920, the Philippine Assembly passed “An Act to Regulate the Practice of the Professions of Engineers and Architect” or Philippine Assembly Act 2985, which marked the institutionalization of the practice of architecture in the Philippines. This year’s celebration will be spearheaded by the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) along with its affiliate organizations through a year-long lineup of activities that commemorates pioneers, milestones and shapers of our profession in the past 100 years.

Awards are marks of recognition that give honor to an individual, group or entity for an outstanding achievement accomplished. It may be in a form of a prize or plaque of appreciation. If someone is given an award, it is meant for doing something well. It is given because that person deserves or merits it after carefully being evaluated by the awards committee.
