KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato: The chairman of the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) has appealed to the national government to stop enforcing its motorcycle No-backride policy in southern Philippines, saying the ban “snags the economic recovery of the country, particularly of Mindanao, the nations second-largest island region.

Emmanuel Piñol, also a former North Cotabato governor, described the policy as “impractical, unrealistic and counterproductive, and MinDA will officially request the Inter Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) that this be rescinded.”
