POLICE in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) on Wednesday said they were open to any investigation concerning the simultaneous serving of search warrants against alleged communist rebels over the weekend that resulted in the deaths of nine people.

Maj. Mary Anne Torres, spokeswoman of Calabarzon police, acknowledged the "motu proprio" investigation launched by the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) to determine operational lapses during the raids that also injured six people.
