IATF Covid rules: A travesty of constitutional administration

A FOREIGN visitor, in reaction to one column, has written to me and described as “lockdown lunacy” the nationwide community quarantine and draconian restrictions that our government, through the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), has imposed on the entire country. They are lunatic, he says, because we are the one country in the world that has ordered the mandatory wearing of face masks and face shields in public places, barred in-person classes in our schools, and made social distancing a new way of life.
