Move to scrap fees for residue test lauded

Business groups on Wednesday lauded the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) move to exempt exporters of fresh and primary processed fruits and vegetables from paying pesticide residue analysis (PRA) fees.

In a joint statement, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. and Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization Inc. said the move will protect the interest of farmers and exporters and will enhance the competitiveness of the agri-food and export industry.
