Local classification society, Orient Register of Shipping Inc. (Orient Class), is trying to forge a win-win arrangement with alumni of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) and the non-government organization Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP).
During a virtual meeting with PMMA alumni and ISP on March 25, Orient Class Executive Vice President Juan Miguel Gonzales has invited PMMA alumni, who are experienced marine officers, to join the class society either as exclusive marine surveyors or as technical experts through a subsidiary.
